U.S. Rep. McSally’s Statement on the Naval Criminal Investigation Service’s Investigation into Marine Corps Social Media
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Martha McSally today released the following statement on the Naval Criminal Investigation Service’s investigation into reports that some Marines used a private Facebook page to distribute nude photos of female Marines.
“The recent report of the degradation of female Marines is deeply disturbing. These actions destroy the bonds of trust that are critical for our Armed Forces to operate. I support the actions taken to investigate and hold accountable those found responsible for these disgraceful actions. This problem highlights the need to change the culture of how we treat women in the military. Our women who have volunteered to serve their Nation in combat should not have to fear those they should trust the most.”
